For some reason the blog somehow got wiped off the Internet and cannot be found. My administrator was not able to recover the data.
So we start fresh with a new blog. I may scrap the blog thing althogether.
Anyway….we had some mild days in February (about 3 days) and I was able to get a lot of lights put away. There are still a few to come down, but I need to wait until the ice lets go of the cords.
I’ll write more soon, if the blog is still here……haha

For my website I use a flat file blog called “Simple PHP Blog” that is integrated into the site and simply sits in a folder below the root directory on the same server. Because it is a flat file database it can be backed up (including all the blog entries) along with a regular site backup and does not require a dedicated database system like MySQL.
It comes with default themes but I created a new theme which includes the navigation bar to mimic the main site design so that it looks as though it is part of the site.
PS I still have lights up also. I’ll get ‘em down…… eventually.

Please don’t ever plan on discontinuing your annual shows. You guys are an inspiration to the rest of us trying to hold together shows on a much smaller scale. Thanks and keep up the good work!! Stan Z

Will there be a new show this year?

I love checking out your light displays, year round. If I could figure out how to make the control panel and set up, I would attempt something in my garden (on a much smaller scale).
A link to your site, is on my website & I have passed your link on to many of my customers in conversation.
I do hope you have a good trip this year and hopefully you will attempt another spectacular display in 2010.
Best wishes to all…& stay warm!

I’m guessing since there is no activity for the 2009/2010 season the lighys have been shut off. This is a very sad day. I have been going to your home for 5 years now and have sent many a friend and family member to your glorious sight. You have done sooooooooooo much for so many and not only through donations. The faces of children from near and far, some who never seen christmas lights in the glory they desire. I drive a school bus and have taken many kids to your show and have sent the linc to many more. Will miss your lights and hope it is only temperary,

I also am sad! Though I know that the lights were a BIG job and took sooooo much time! Thanks for the great shows and maybe we will see a new show someday!

First, I would like to congratulate you on your marriage.
Second, I would like to say that in 2006 I was in Thornhill and was taken to your show. I was like a kid in a candy store. It was one of the most beautiful Christmas exhibits I have ever seen. It’s just too bad that you dont have local people that are willing to help you with the lights and the patrolling. Wish I lived closer. Love your displays and look forward to checking you out again next year.
